The word destiny. Our destinies include intimate communication with God.

Our Destinies Include Intimate Communication With God

Have you ever felt like you do not hear God. Do you believe He wouldn’t want to speak to you? Perhaps you grew up with negative messages about your worth, so, you struggle now to believe you are worth God talking to you. Negative messages about your worth do not come from God, but are a piece of the enemy’s plan to keep you from God. Our destinies include intimate communication with God. So how do we receive this truth?

The Facts

Here are the facts. Scripture tells us that before God made heaven and earth, it was in His heart to create us.
Eph. 1:4 “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In loved 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ,”

Sonship and Bridehood

This scripture talks of sonship, other scriptures talk of bridehood. Both destinies include intimate communication with God. Looking at sonship, we need more than a mental understanding of sonship. We know from scripture that He adopts us into His family, but most of us only know this intellectually. God wants to bring us to a place where we know this experientially. Only He can lead us to the place where we experience this. Yet, even before we experience this, we can know He wants to speak to us.

The Lover of Our Souls Awaits Our Listening Ears

Before God created us, He destined us for fellowship and communication with Him. He desired fellowship with humans so much He created us, even though He knew He had to become human and die. With this kind of price, how could He not desire to speak to us?
Rev. 21:3 “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.’”

This scripture tells us what our ultimate end will be. So, what about today?

A Lesson From the Past

Jer. 7:23 “But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you will walk in all the way which I command you, that it may be well with you.’
God would not command us to hear His voice if it was impossible to hear it. Yes, He speaks through His word, but this scripture refers to Exodus 19 and 20 when the Lord spoke audibly to His people and they refused His voice.

Jere. 7:24 “Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward and not forward.”

When we do not listen for the Lord’s voice, it can leave us with the counsels of our evil hearts. The counsel of God can change us for the better, but the counsel of our hearts tends toward evil. That is why our destinies include intimate communication with God. This fellowship keeps us from evil and transforms us to become more like Him.

Relationship With God Is By His Voice

In Exodus, God asked for a relationship by His voice and His people said no. What will you say? He made you worthy of hearing through His blood, but you must seek Him. Hear what He says: Jere. 29:12 ‘Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.’ We do not need to hide who we are from Him. He removes the veils that separate us from Him as we seek Him.

Notice that seeking God and finding Him depends on seeking Him with our entire heart. This seeking has desperation in it. He is not looking for lip service but wholehearted devotion. He knows the difference.

Let Him Reparent You, Then Let Him Marry You Forever

Knowing Him As He Is

When you listen and He speaks to you, you will become hungry for more. All listening takes us to an ultimate destination of knowing Him as He is. He promises us we will find Him. Don’t despise the hunger that forms in you as you listen. That hunger drives you to seek with your whole heart. You will find the hunger is never completely satisfied. That is why eternity exists.

The Lover of our souls awaits our listening ears so He can build a relationship with us. He desires to be known and to hold us, love us, comfort us in sorrow now and fellowship with us forever.
